people with disabilities. These services are provided through
equestrianism, horticulture and community-based activities with an
emphasis on choice, personal development and progression. The

JOB TITLE: Positive Behaviour Support Worker
CONTRACT TYPE: Part-time Specified Purpose Contract of Employment

REPORTING TO: Training & Day Service Manager/Keyworker
RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Executive Officer; Deputy Chief Executive
PURPOSE:
To support a young Ukrainian woman to build links in her local
community, achieve individual goals, engage in group activities with
her peers as part of the Saol Anois Adult Day Service and implement
positive behaviour support strategies.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
* Provide * support to an individual to help
them design and lead their own Multi Element Behaviour Support (MEBS)
plans, supporting them to learn new strategies and alternative
behaviours to work on their individual goals in conjunction with the
keyworkers and Behaviour Support Co-ordinator.
* Work in conjunction with the service members key worker or
advocate to create structures that support them to implement the
individuals MEBS plans.
* Work in cohesion with family members to support them to implement
Multi Element Behavior Support plans at home.
* Provide * support to the service member so
that they can engage in group activities.
* Support the service member to engage with their peers and develop
social skills and appropriate friendships.
* Support the service member to develop links in their community and
develop their individual timetable in line with their needs and wishes
e.g attending local clubs, sports etc
* Provide weekly reports and work collaboratively with keyworkers to
support positive behaviour
* Review and provide recommendations on significant events/incidents
* Review and provide recommendations for individual risk
assessments.
* Work with the Behaviour Support Co-Ordinator in implementing and
developing support plans and the collection of data where appropriate.
* Attend team and family meetings as appropriate.
* Attend IPCP & ITP Meetings as appropriate.
* Complying with the Health and Safety requirements of the
organisation
* To contribute to the overall strategic planning of Festina Lente

PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS THE PERSON MUST MEET ARE AS FOLLOWS:
* An appropriate third level qualification in a related field e.g.
Social Care/ Mental Health / Behavioural Analysis / Psychology
* Degree of flexibility with working hours to accommodate service
member needs – any changes in weekly working hours will be given two
weeks in advance
* Knowledge of Multi Element Behaviour Support
* A minimum of two years’ experience working with people with
additional needs
* Experience supporting people with challenging behaviours
* Experience supporting people with disabilities in accessing local
services
* Experience of efficient administration and record keeping
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Has the capacity to integrate well with, and contribute to, an
evolving organisation.
* Have fluent English
* Have a good and proficient knowledge of IT systems and is computer
literate.

* Russian speaker

TRAVEL & SUBSISTENCE: A fleet of vehicles is available; however, there
may be a requirement from time to time to travel in your own
vehicle. If and when these occasions arise, expenses will be paid in
accordance with Festina Lente travel rates.

ANNUAL LEAVE: Annual Leave will be * days per
annum (pro rata). Entitlement to Public Holidays will be in

Service is closed for one week in August (week of bank holiday) and
one week in December (Christmas)
Location of the position: Successful applicants will be required to
support the service member while accessing the Day Service located in
Dun Laoghaire and also in their local community in Co. Wicklow.
